The Basics of Automobiles and Motorcycles

There are two main types of automobiles. The first type is the passenger car, which is made to carry passengers and other goods. These vehicles are generally four-wheeled, have a front steering wheel, and have seats for passengers.

Motorcycles, on the other hand, are self-propelled, and have two or three wheels. They are designed for transport and are not suitable for traveling on icy or rainy roads.

In the United States, there are strict environmental regulations for motorcycles. They are regulated to emit less than 5.0 grams of hydrocarbons and nitric oxides per kilometer.

In Europe, the European Union limits the amount of carbon monoxide, nitric oxides, and hydrocarbons that can be emitted from new motorcycles. Additionally, California has imposed tighter limits for nitric oxides and hydrocarbons.

Honda continues to enjoy strong growth in the motorcycle business. As it continues to expand into the growing markets of Asia and Latin America, it is also focused on improving its sales mix with light and medium motorcycles.

In addition to improving its sales mix, Honda is making efforts to streamline its supply chain and enhance its global production network. It will cut the number of trim variations for its global models and will introduce more common parts in 2021.

However, Honda is facing challenges in the electrified vehicle segment. This could negatively impact its sales mix. To address the challenges, it will roll out standardized replaceable batteries for its mid-sized motorcycles in collaboration with three other domestic OEMs.
